Native planting and gravel path
A bush-edge garden with native planting, sleeper edging and a gravel path.

The situation
A shaded, root-bound area under mature trees where lawn wouldn't grow and access was difficult.
What we did
Sleeper edging defined the beds and path, a compacted gravel path gave dry access, and native planting suited to shade and dry root zones was mulched in.
The result
A low-maintenance garden that works with the trees instead of fighting them.
